A teacher must accompany and supervise each team for the entire visit. If visit tour capacity is limited, schools may need to split into multiple groups, each with a teacher. HKT Integrated Service & Operation Center (ISOC) operates round-the-clock to perform service and network management with unique quadruple-play solutions, sophisticated monitoring, and analysis tools to ensure quality HKT services are provided to customers. Through the visit to the Network Operation Center and Telecom Exchange, students will gain an in-depth understanding of telecom network operations, network monitoring and fault management processes, and recognize the crucial role that telecom infrastructure plays in supporting communication systems, enhancing their understanding of telecom operations and ICT applications.
The open day will be held at SmarTone’s head office. Students will get an inside look at the company’s “brain,” visit a radio base station (cell site) and other mobile service facilities, and learn how the telecommunications industry builds resilience in a connected world.
As the first dedicated IT tertiary institute in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT) offers comprehensive IT and relevant technology programmes covering in two areas of information and communications technology and digital media and entertainment technology. Students would be able to master the latest technology and applications through participating in internships and industry collaboration projects, equipping them for professional development in the challenging and evolving industry.
To allow participants to thoroughly understand and experience the latest developments in emerging technologies such as AI and cybersecurity, HKIIT will organise a series of activities, including visits to AI & Big Data Centre, Cybersecurity Centre and Digital Innovation Co-creation Centre. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to engage in interactive taster programmes and experience the showcase of students' innovative projects.
